The children have been conducting a ‘Freaky Flowers’ experiment and are learning about how flowers absorb water. The children placed flowers in a cup of water and added different levels of dye. The cups were placed in different areas of the classroom. After predicting the outcome, the children monitored the flowers as they absorbed the water and the colour of the petals slowly changed.
