Sunday was another historic day for Milltown NS. Ms. Dalton’s fifth and sixth class represented the school in the Science and Technology Festival in NUIGalway with their Scratch projects and won the award for technology! The children put so much work into the projects-making the sprites from playdoh, taking pictures and uploading them to the computers, editing them and finally coding them to tell a story. The judges were very impressed with the projects and the children’s knowledge and expertise when discussing their projects. There was a lot of interest in their work throughout the day and excitement grew when the children were called in for the awards ceremony. It was a great moment when Milltown NS was called out as the winner of the technology award for schools. We were delighted that so many children and parents came to Galway to support the school.
